Module 1 of 60% path

What counts as an incident

An incident may involve safety, security, medical needs, property damage, a policy violation, or suspicious activity. Separate imminent danger from non-urgent concerns. Life safety comes first, followed by safe notification, control, and documentation. FIELD PRACTICE For incident-response work, stabilize the scene, observe and preserve facts, notify the right role, document the timeline, and complete a clean handoff. Use a concrete field example from the course domain without including unnecessary personal data. FIELD CHECK • Separate verified facts from reports, assumptions, and recommendations. • Preserve safety, privacy, evidence, and a clear handoff. • Escalate unresolved risk through the designated channel and record who was notified.

Tip: A safe response is more important than being first to intervene.
